In 1984, the High Commissioner, His Excellency Bediako, called a meeting of the leaders of the then existing Association and gave a directive to all Ghanaian Association, Unions, Clubs etc. to form a national association and call it National Association of Ghanaian Communities in Nigeria (NAGHACON) which must be non-tribal, non-religious and non-polities embracing all Ghanaians irrespective of where they come from, who they are, religious or political affiliation.
